Up to 13 million elderly people have reached State Pension age and are poised to receive as much as £230.25 a week from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Some 4.1 million New State Pension recipients will collect the full amount during September, as per the latest figures.
An additional 8.8 million pensioners will receive up to £176.45 per week through the Basic State Pension. This means eight million face the prospect of losing out on £216 worth of funds from the DWP in September, due to the dual-tier arrangement the benefits department runs, reports Birmingham Live .
