ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Bond was set for a man facing an upgraded charge in connection with a crash that killed a South Carolina state trooper earlier this month.
A judge set a $225,000 cash surety bond for 45-year-old Anthony Aydlette, of Hanahan, on Friday. Aydlette is charged with reckless homicide after allegedly hitting South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Dennis Ricks with a box truck on Aug. 10.
Aydlette was also ordered not to leave the state if he posted bail and to have no contact with the family.
Officials said Ricks had just concluded a traffic stop on Interstate 26 when he was struck. Ricks died at a hospital three days after the crash.
