The new President of Memorial University is very concerned about immigration caps imposed by the federal government and how that will affect the university.

Memorial and universities across the country have relied heavily on the income brought in by foreign students and the diversity they bring to academics and campus life.

While final enrolment numbers are not yet available, Janet Morrison says any cut in foreign students will have an effect.

She says there is “no doubt” that the changes made to IRCC policy are playing out.
