HOLLAND — Burton wasted no time shaking off recent history.

Quarterback Kayden Patterson scored three first-half touchdowns and threw for another while the Panthers’ defense controlled the line of scrimmage as Burton rolled past Holland 36-13 Friday night in the 2025 season opener.

The win snapped a two-year losing streak to the Hornets and gave Burton its first season-opening victory over Holland since 2022.

Panthers head coach Jason Hodde felt that his young team getting over the hump in an opener was especially meaningful.
