Free speech is our founders’ best gift to Americans. One local citizen, a car dealer school board member, recently used his free speech to decorate his business lawn with anti-DEI and anti-CRT slogans. I defend his right to his speech, but I question his judgment.

MAGA pushes a myth that “DEI hires” are unqualified and is “reverse racism or sexism.” Persons chosen in any employment can turn out to be unqualified, including white, straight men, a group who still maintains a dominant edge in positions of power and wealth.
