Week one of the high school football season is in the books and there were a lot of exciting performances from athletes around the area. Here are some takeaways from key games around North Iowa.

Northwood-Kensett 32, Cedar Ridge Christian 26

The Northwood-Kensett Vikings pulled off the win at the end of the game against Cedar Ridge Christian. It was a back-and-forth battle between the Vikings and the Regents. With the game tied 26-26 at the end of the third quarter, the Vikings stormed into the end zone for six in the fourth to seal the game and start the season 1-0.
