Two men have been arrested and charged after police say they discovered 874 cannabis plants in Motherwell .

Officers raided a property on the town’s Merry Street at around 6.30pm on Thursday (August 28).

Police estimate the plants recovered from the alleged cultivation would be worth around £522,000 on the street.

The two men, aged 33 and 30, were arrested and charged in connection with the discovery. They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday (September 1).
