PEMBROKE — Over the last 27 years, the GLOCK ministry has helped countless people in Robeson County in times of need and at Christmastime. Through that time, the ministry has moved its home base from place to place.

Now it will finally have a permanent home.

It’s apropos, perhaps, that the story of that building will be one of uncommon faith.

“I said ‘Lord, I’m sick of people asking me about a building.’ But I didn’t have money to build a building,” said Purlie Deese, who runs the GLOCK ministry. “I said ‘Lord, you said faith without works is dead — God, I’m going to trust you.’”
