EATON — Head coach Cameron Stewart and his Eaton Reds football team aren’t exactly the types to be content with a loss.

But with the full realization that wins in November carry a lot more meaning than losses in August, they also aren’t exactly the types to dwell on any game, victory or defeat, this early in the three-month season.

Despite a fast start for Eaton in the game’s opening minutes, the Reds succumbed to defending Class 2A state champion Classical Academy’s punishing defensive tenacity in a 34-17 loss Friday night.

But disappointed as they might have been with the final outcome, Eaton senior quarterback Andrew Loyd and his driven squad refused to hang their heads — instead opting to look straight ahead — moments after the loss.
