A man wanted in connection with a July 6 homicide at an Akron gas station was arrested early on Aug. 30 by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Demario McCall, 41, was wanted by the Akron Police Department on charges of murder, having weapons while under disability and carrying concealed weapons. McCall is suspected of shooting Ar’Mon Covington, 26, multiple times.
McCall was allegedly harassing a woman at a BP gas station on Grant Street when Covington attempted to intervene, police reported. Covington was shot in the parking lot and died at the scene, police reported.
A warrant was issued for McCall’s arrest on July 8. He was arrested without incident at an address in the 500 block of Ardella Avenue in Akron, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service, which
