TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily/AP) — Break out your favorite jerseys and turn up the grill — Arizona State football is back in the Valley of the Sun!

Coming off a College Football Playoff run, the No. 11-ranked Sun Devils have their highest preseason ranking since 1998 and are looking to become back-to-back Big 12 Conference Champions. The Sun Devils defeated Iowa State to clinch the conference title, but lost to the Texas Longhorns in the Peach Bowl.

ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt returns after a stellar first season and is among the Heisman Trophy favorites. Arizona State also returns dynamic receiver Jordyn Tyson after he missed the Big 12 championship and the CFP with a collarbone injury.
