AKRON, Ohio — Federal and local law enforcement officers say they arrested Demario McCall, 41, in connection with the July 6 shooting death of 26-year-old Ar’Mon Covington early Friday morning.
Members of the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) located McCall at an address on Ardella Avenue in Akron and took him into custody without incident, authorities said. A loaded firearm was recovered during the arrest.
Authorities said McCall is accused of shooting Covington at the BP gas station on Grant Street after Covington intervened while McCall was reportedly harassing a woman.
