It didn't take long for the Barry Odom era of Purdue football to get off to an impressive start. In fact, it took the offense nine plays to score two touchdowns. An important development since the Boilermakers didn't have a first-half touchdown against an FBS opponent last season.

For perspective, that all happened before the marquee game between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State ran a play from scrimmage. It was a dominant 31-0 win for Purdue over a Ball State team with first-year coach Mike Uremovich , a Purdue graduate.
