ROCKY TOP, Tenn. — The Rocky Top Police Department responded to a "suspicious item" found during a traffic arrest on Saturday.

RTPD confirmed that there was a traffic arrest and a suspected homemade explosive was found during a search of the vehicle.

The device has been taken by the Knox County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad for further evaluation.

No charges related to the device have been filed yet, according to RTPD.
