TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says one person was killed in a crash early this morning, August 30.

The PCSD says it happened near East Drexel Road and South Palo Verde Road.

Deputies determined the crash involved a Buick Lucerne and a flatbed tow truck.

The PCSD says three passengers from the Buick sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Buick, identified as 25-year-old Fran Molina, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tow truck was not hurt.

Detectives say it appears Molina was traveling north on South Palo Verde Road when she hit the back end of a flatbed tow truck.

The PCSD says speed and impairment are suspected as contributing factors.

The investigation remains ongoing.
