BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A member of one of Connecticut’s most notorious gangs was sentenced to 40 years in prison in Bridgeport federal court on Friday.

The Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut reports that Bridgeport resident Joshua “Lor Heavy” Gilbert, 24, received the 480-month sentence, which will be followed by three years of supervised release.

Prosecutors say Gilbert was a member of Bridgeport’s Original North End gang, or O.N.E., which is based in the Trumbull Gardens area of the city.

The O.N.E. gang has earned a reputation for violently attacking rival groups such as the East End gang, the East Side gang, the PT Barnum gang and a gang from the city’s West End.
