OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, people across the Fox Valley were invited to Oshkosh for the Hmong National Labor Festival.
The event, held at the Winnebago County Community Park, was put on by Oshkosh Hmong Service Center Inc. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Hmong resettlement in the United States.
From a celebration of culture with food, music and more, the event was filled with plenty of competition in various sports, from soccer to volleyball and dancing.
In addition, a 7-foot monument dedicated to the Hmong Secret War, in which the United States and the CIA relied on the Hmong people and other tribes to fight communism in Laos.
The event continues on Sunday as well.
