Burrell High School announced that it will be rolling out a weapons detection system just in time for the 2025-26 school year.

“It’s like what’s used at a Steelers game, or any kind of large event,” Superintendent Shannon Wagner told the Trib.
The first day for students in Burrell is Tuesday.
The Trib said that the new system will cost roughly $68,000 and will be at the high school only.
Other area school districts that have recently installed weapons detectors include Plum, Shaler Area, Hempfield Area, and Franklin Regional.
