Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood is set to make his college debut as the No. 14 Wolverines face New Mexico , with excitement surrounding the freshman from Detroit.

Underwood was highly regarded in high school, having been the top-rated prospect in the nation from Belleville High School. Underwood will debut alongside new teammates, including Alabama transfer running back Justice Haynes and Indiana wide receiver Donaven McCulley. The Wolverines will face a tougher challenge against an experienced Oklahoma defense led by Brent Venables on September 6.

The Lobos are on their third coach in three years. They earned just five wins a season ago but one was over a ranked Washington State team in their second-to-last contest of the season. They won just four games the year prior.
