FARGO — Fargo North quarterback Kellen Dougherty rushed for two touchdowns and added two scoring strikes in a 34-22 win over Mandan on Friday in North Dakota Class AAA football.
Jacob Sogge had scoring receptions of 41 and 38 yards from Dougherty, the last one giving the Spartans a 28-8 lead in the second quarter. Sogge finished with three catches for 122 yards. Dougherty, who had TD runs of 1 and 46 yards, also completed 4 of 8 passes for 142 yards with one interception.
North's Mikel Lockwood had seven rushes for 54 yards while Lucas Jackson had 53 yards on 10 carries.
Mandan's Brody Skalsky had 103 yards on 13 carries. Quarterback Cole Carlson finished 15 of 32 for 183 yards with a TD and an interception.
Noah Olheiser led North with six tackles and had an interception.
