( 25News Now ) - Construction equipment maker Caterpillar acknowledged Friday that it will take a bigger hit from tariffs than the company forecast in early August.

Additional tariffs and several clarifications have been made since Caterpillar’s Aug. 5 second quarter earnings report “that will impact the company’s financial results for the third quarter and the remainder of 2025,” Cat said in a statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Caterpillar expects the cost of tariffs to reach approximately $500 million to $600 million during the quarterly period from July through September, from its earlier projection of $400 million to $500 million.

For all of 2025, Big Yellow projects tariffs will cost $1.5 billion to $1.8 billion, from its earlier forecast of $1.3 billion
