BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - Celebrating his first Labor Day as Bloomington’s mayor, Dan Brady is encouraging city residents to honor the holiday’s spirit by giving back to the community.
Noting that this isn’t just a time to rest, Brady is launching the Labor Day Volunteer Challenge, encouraging people to take some time this weekend to help local organizations who rely on volunteers.
“Labor Day celebrates the value of hard work,” said Brady in a prepared statement. “One of the best ways we can honor that tradition is by serving others. I’m challenging everyone in Bloomington to roll up their sleeves and volunteer. Whether it’s an hour or a full day, every effort makes a difference.”
The mayor’s news release lists a half-dozen groups that could use the help.
