Hello there! August is ending with quite a punch as we enter our second late-season heat wave! Several possible record-breaking days are on the way.
For your Sunday , expect highs in the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies. Some haze will be noticeable, especially in the morning, with light winds continuing. A slight chance of late-night showers could develop around 11 p.m.
A Heat Advisory will be in effect from Sunday at 1 p.m. through Thursday at 8 p.m. Temperatures in the highlighted areas are expected to range between 95 and 105 degrees.
Records may fall between Labor Day and Thursday , with forecast highs either just above or just below long-standing marks. Interestingly, most of the September records were set in 1988 , with one dating all the way back to 1888 .
