SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Sioux City Public Museum opened a new exhibit Saturday, Aug. 30, that focuses on Sioux City’s telecommunications history.

The new ‘Hello Operator’ exhibit details Sioux City’s history of having one of the first telephone exchanges in the state of Iowa, and being one of the first Iowa cities to adopt telephone services.

It features historic photos, telephone designs and equipment.

The Sioux City Public Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p. m., Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
