A new map has revealed the major changes that are set to be made to roads in Nuneaton town centre. It is contained within Warwickshire County Council papers to discuss the proposals.

This includes the plans to replace the Leicester Road gyratory system with a four arm roundabout. Also the changes to Wheat Street from the current three-legged junction with Vicarage Street to a new four-legged layout.

Both are huge plans and each require the county council to buy land so that the changes can be made. In regards to Wheat Street, the plans have been approved.

But the project has been hit by delays - largely down to Shire Hall needing to buy some land in the area. There are also land acquisition issues with the nearby Leicester Road gyratory plans too.
