IOWA CITY — Iowa opened the season with a 34-7 win over UAlbany in Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.
The Hawkeyes (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) got off to a slow start before powering their way to the 27-point win with 310 yards on the ground. They also held the Great Danes (0-1, 0-0 Coastal Athletic) to just 177 yards of total offense including just 43 rushing yards.
Though lopsided on the scoreboard, an early miscue, two long runs and a long field goal tell the story of an unsurprising but uninspiring win.
