Tesco has issued a recall for two of its beauty products over fears of potential bacterial contamination. The supermarket chain is urging customers not to use certain batches of its Tesco Kind and Pure Facial Cleansing Wipes, which may be 'unsafe for use'.
In an official statement, Tesco revealed that microbiological testing had identified the presence of 'Pluralibacter gergoviae' in 20 specific batches. According to Melbec Microbiology , this bacterium has become a significant concern in the cosmetics industry due to its ability to cause infections, particularly in those with compromised immune systems.
