Scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms will continue today across parts of the state, keeping temperatures slightly cooler. Drier weather returns by the start of the work week ahead of our next push of cooler, fall air.

Showers and evening a few isolated thunderstorms lingered overnight, especially over portions of central and southwest Iowa. Any lingering storms should fade away through sunrise, but spotty showers may continue throughout the morning across far southwest Iowa. Drier weather is expected over central and eastern Iowa throughout the morning.
