Richie Trotman powered Iselin Kennedy with eight completions for 101 yards, two passing touchdowns and a rushing score in a 36-0 shutout over Perth Amboy in its season opener in Perth Amboy.

Fiheem Howell Jr. opened the scoring for Iselin Kennedy (1-0) with a 20-yard rushing touchdown. Iselin Kennedy could not convert its extra point as it led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Trotman threw his first touchdown pass of the game to Grant Lorentzen in the second quarter from 10 yards out. Howell Jr. punched the ball into the endzone for the two-point conversion as Iselin Kennedy led 14-0.

Iselin Kennedy and its defense extended its lead after Dushyant Kumar collected a safety. Now leading 16-0, Trotman threw his second touchdown pass to Lorentzen from 25 yards out to end the first half
