The Alaska State Medical Board would rather Alaskan youth die than receive standardized, widely

On Aug. 22, the Alaska State Medical Board unanimously approved a draft regulation that would allow medical providers to be sanctioned for providing gender-affirming care for trans youth. This is a politically-motivated and bigoted act that goes against standardized care and puts our youth at risk of significant psychological suffering and suicide. In a state with some of the nations’ highest risk factors for suicide and highest rates of suicide, all Alaskans should be enraged and reach out for public comment when the opportunity arises.

First, let’s talk about the members of the Alaska State Medical Board:
