NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police are investigating a homicide after a man was found fatally shot early Sunday.
Officers were called to the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Downman Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting, according to police.
When Seventh District officers arrived, they found a male victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death and release the victim’s identity after notifying relatives.
