A woman has tragically lost her life after being struck by a falling tree branch in south Manchester. Emergency services rushed to the scene in West Didsbury at approximately 7.15pm on Saturday evening (August 30). ‌

The large branch had plummeted from a tree on Barlow Moor Road, near the junction with Stanton Avenue. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency services, the woman, who was in her 40s, sadly passed away at the scene , Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
