A man has been hospitalized after, officials said, he was shot during a robbery that happened in Philadelphia's Northern Liberties neighborhood on Saturday night.

According to police, a 45-year-old man was shot during a robbery that happened along the 700 block of North Front Street in Northern Liberties at about 10:47 p.m. on Saturday.

In that incident, officials said, officer responding to a report of a person with a gun found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

An investigation, officials said, found the victim was approached by an unknown assailant who demanded the chains around the victim's neck. The attacker, police said, snatched the chains and shot the victim before he demanded
