Coventry City are reported to have agreed a £6.5million deal to sell Ben Sheaf to Championship new-comers Wrexham.

The Sky Blues were claimed to be “in talks” with the Welsh club earlier today and now Sky Sports News are reporting that the two clubs have come to an agreement to sign City’s captain.

The broadcaster’s transfer centre further states that the 27-year-old former Arsenal prospect is due to undergo a medical on Monday, just hours before the summer transfer window shuts at 7pm.

Sheaf, who has a year left on his current contract with an option of a further 12 months in Coventry ’s favour, was the subject of interest from a number of clubs this time last year but Doug King wouldn’t let him go after City failed to get Marko Stamenic, who’d been lined up as a replacement.
