Two months, 7800km, seven pairs of shoes and 9000 calories of food a day.
That is what faces Perth -raised property worker and runner Alex Barbas, who will aim to run from Sydney to Perth and back in the name of charity.
The run comes as an effort to raise $780,000, or $100 per kilometre, for Starlight Children’s Foundation — a charity aimed at brightening the lives of sick children through activities.
The funds would be enough to help more than 20,000 sick children through the organisation Barbas has volunteered for since 2016.
As of Thursday afternoon, nearly $11,000 had already been raised.
The 33-year-old will be taking off from Sydney on September 1 with the hope of reaching Perth by mid-October where he says he will stop in to see his parents and indulge in a big dish of pasta
