WASHINGTON STATE – The Labor Day weekend travel rush is underway with severe weather impacting travel plans. TSA expects surpass last year’s numbers with around 17.4 million passengers.
AAA reported that travel costs are down across the board, including hotels, rental cars, and domestic roundtrip tickets, which are 6% cheaper than last year.
Gas prices are also favorable for most travelers. The national average is just under $3.20, making driving a popular choice for holiday travel. However, prices remained high throughout Washington state, with AAA’s average estimate from the past weekend remaining at over $4 per gallon.
According to AAA booking data, the top three domestic travel destinations this Labor Day weekend are Orlando, New York, and Seattle, Washington.
