After Michigan State opened its 2025 season with a victory over Western Michigan, the Spartans (1-0) enter Week 2 as a slim favorite over their highlight nonconference opponent — Boston College (1-0).

Hosting their lone power-conference foe in nonconference play on Saturday (7:30 p.m., NBC/Peacock), the Spartans have opened as a 3.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel odds on Sunday.

The Spartans didn’t dominate in their opening game on offense, but the MSU defense put on a lockdown display, holding the Broncos’ offense scoreless. Second-year coach Jonathan Smith and his team hope to build off a season-opening win to try and knock off the team that handed them their first loss last season.
