The National Weather Service released an extreme heat watch at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday valid from Tuesday 11 a.m. until Thursday 8 p.m. for Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and North Central Oregon.
"Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 102 degrees possible. This will pose a major risk of heat-related illness," says the weather service. "Daily high temperature records are at risk for many cities in the watch area Tuesday through Thursday."
"Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. Extreme heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially those who a
