A young diver who vanished in Morocco was found alive two days later after drifting nearly 100 miles to another continent.
The unnamed 23-year-old was spotted floating in the sea by the crew of a merchant ship heading to Portugal, who called a helicopter rescue team.
The medics hoisted the diver to safety 24 nautical miles off Caleta de Velez on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
He was only wearing a wetsuit and showed signs of hypothermia, but was in stable condition after reaching the hospital.
The helicopter team released dramatic photos of the moment he was rescued from the merchant ship. On arrival, he was semi-conscious and suffering from dehydration.
