LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN) is recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) by sharing resources that aim to end overdose.
On their Facebook page, SCAN shared an IOAD toolkit from the CDC that explains the purpose of the campaign along with overdose prevention strategies.
IOAD is a day to remember lives lost to overdose, and to empower communities to prevent future deaths.
Additionally, SCAN shared information on Naloxone , commonly referred to as Narcan, which is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.
