WACO, Texas (KWTX) - McLennan County was established by the Texas Legislature on Jan. 22, 1850, and the first McLennan County Commissioners Court meeting was held on Sept. 2 of that year.

On Tuesday, exactly 175 years from the inaugural commissioners’ meeting, the current members of the court will commemorate the milestone anniversary with a proclamation celebrating the county’s “past achievements and look forward to a prosperous future.”
