NEW ORLEANS — A 30-year-old woman has returned home and is safe after she was reported missing Sunday morning in Algiers.
The New Orleans Police Department asked for the public's help to search for Yandra Gomez. Officers said she has medical issues and is intellectually disabled.
Police said family reported Yandra Gomez missing around 8:30 a.m. and she could have been carrying a pink-color backpack. They said she primarily speaks Spanish.
Officers said she is a Hispanic female, age 30, height 5' 0", and weight 170 pounds.
Police looked near Sullen Place and Berkley Drive.
Gomez's family was deeply worried, and said they relocated to New Orleans three weeks ago. Family members told NOPD that Yandra is not familiar with the area.
NOPD actively searched for Gomez.
