Families of the Stolen is a nonprofit advocating for families impacted by homicide and violence.
They hosted their second annual Gone, but Not Forgotten Community Walk Saturday to kick off September as cold case awareness month.
Families filled Fontenelle Park with music and dancing as they celebrated and remembered the lives of loved ones they have lost.
Those loved ones were lost to homicide and violence, leaving each of their families with a painful story to tell.
"She was a preschool teacher, 24 years old, who was walking outside of a nightclub on 108th Street, and unfortunately, she was shot in crossfire," said Makayla Walker, sister of homicide victim Janee Hadan.
