A Talladega man died in a head-on collision Saturday evening near Talladega, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
An ALEA statement released Sunday said that Demetrius L. Pope, 51, was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry that collided head-on with a 2012 Dodge Caravan driven by Felicia A.R. Gober, 39, of Munford. Pope was pronounced dead at the scene and Gober was airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment.
The collision took place in Talladega County at about 9:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. The scene was on Ala. 21 near Mile Marker 225, approximately three miles south of the Talladega city limits.
Troopers are investigating the incident, ALEA said.
