MADISON, Wis. —

The No. 12 Creighton volleyball team earned its first win under new head coach Brian Rosen, rallying to defeat No. 14 Kansas in five sets at the Opening Spike Classic on Sunday afternoon.

The Bluejays overcame an early fifth-set deficit and used a 9-0 run to storm back and secure the win (25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-27, 15-12) as Creighton improved to 1-2 on the season. A

Ava Martin paced CU with 18 kills, 9 figs and 2 aces while Destiny Ndam-Simpson added 13 kills and 8 digs.

Middle blocker Kiara Reinhardt had 11 kills while hitting .364 and Eloise Brandewie finished with 9 kills and 9 blocks.

Creighton totaled 64 kills, 74 digs, 13 blocks and 5 aces while hitting .204 for the match. The Bluejays return to action next weekend at the Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles.
