CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WILX) - While the fall season creeps in, a event called the Festival of Oddities was held on Sunday in Charlotte for the unofficial kickoff to spooky season.

People who attended the event got to participate in spooky-themed activities, eat spooky-themed food from food trucks, enjoy entertainment, and much more.

Jenn Carpenter, the founder and organizer, spoke on why she hosts this festival year after year.

“We’re supporting small businesses and we’re doing this as a free thing for the community,” said Carpenter. “It’s kind of what everything I do business-wise is related to oddities, the spooky, and the McCobbs, so we just wanted something really fun and different and spooky. We didn’t have anything like this in the area when it started.”
