A U.S. Airman from Jacksonville, Florida, is home with his family this Labor Day weekend, all because one Boston woman who knows what it's like to miss her son.
" Miles for Military " is a non-profit that lets active-duty service members from all branches trade volunteer hours at a charity of their choice for flights home for holidays and other moments that matter -- flights they often would not be able to afford, otherwise. It's a labor of love that was born from a simple conversation between Maureen Byrne and her son, Ronan, who said, "'Mom, nobody goes home.'"

"I said, 'yeah, we gotta help these kids',” Byrne recalled.
