SHREVEPORT, La. - In this week's Hometown Patriot, Rick Rowe decided to honor the volunteer army that showed up in New Orleans as Hurricane Katrina rolled through 20 years ago.

He remembers the many men and women who helped shelter others, respond to the disaster and carry the load of a city in shambles.
