Student accommodation could be used for people experiencing homelessness. Carter Jonas has proposed to use 176 Chesterton Road, Cambridge , as accommodation for homeless people.

The building, known as Crossways House, has historically been used as accommodation for students at CATS College. It has a lease until December 12 of this year for student accommodation, but this usage ceased in November 2024.

Between November 2024 and March 2025, pending the search for a new educational partner, the building was used as emergency winter accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. Carter Jonas proposes to extend it to allow use of the site as sheltered accommodation for homeless people.
