A footpath through a Cambridge meadow is to remain partially closed due to a ‘delay’ in repairs. Work began at the end of June to carry out improvements along the path in Ditton Meadows, which were set to last six weeks.

The majority of work has been completed on schedule, according to Cambridgeshire County Council. The completion date has been delayed due to a delay in metal materials.

The works are expected to continue from Monday (September 8).

A council spokesperson said: “The majority of the work in Ditton Meadows to improve the walking and cycling routes and prevent the cows from escaping took place in July and early August as scheduled. There has been a delay on the supply of the bespoke metal railings that run alongside the cattle grids.
